About RKH Test and Tag

RKH Test & Tag Melbourne was established in 2012 by myself, Grant Atkinson. It was for a variety of reasons but one being it was a lifestyle choice, as it enabled me to work my days around spending quality time with my young children. I have always had an interest in the electrical field. At a young age I was pulling apart radios etc and repairing them. Straight from school I went into an Electrical Apprenticeship.

Now my passion is the SAFETY for others in the workplace!

Having worked over many years across a number of varied businesses I began to see a significant need in the market for a professional Tag and Test service provider. Particularly once a business grew to a certain size, they were really struggling to maintain compliance by managing this work internally.

What does RKH stand for?

This is the 1st initial of each of my children’s names. Rhys, Kayn, Harley.

What was the story behind your logo? Does the fella in your logo have a name?

The logo was chosen by Harley my youngest son. Harley was 6 then & he said that it looks like him because of the blonde hair.

Existing staff on the ground may have had the right expertise but to relieve them of their normal duties risked far greater risk and consequence to the business than hiring a dedicated resource. Since I have dedicated software to manage and report on appliance inventories I was able to complete the work far more quickly and efficiently. Therein began many a long term relationship with companies all across Melbourne I still continue to work with and visit regularly to this day.

This is an ever growing and evolving industry which needs & ensures the protection of both Employers and Employees from potential disaster.

I am extremely family focused and I know the importance of feeling safe at work.

So, if I can make a difference to your life by getting you home to your family that is a win for me.

When I get home at the end of the day, I love to kick back with my sons and on weekends escape to Lake Glenmaggie for some trail bike riding and water skiing shenanigans.

Whilst being able to return home at the end of the day is something most of us take for granted I feel grateful that the work that I do every day goes a long way towards making this a reality.
